About DHopkins

Hello. I am a husband, wife, 5 year old, and 2 year team that is currently going through some tough times.  We were homeless for almost 6 months and then finally acquired an apartment that we've been living in for about 5 months now.  Due to lack of work and some family issues, we have gotten behind in our bills (one in particular) which has us currently powerless.  Our electricity is currently off and has been for about a month.  I have managed to keep up with the Gas and rent and phone bills yet our SMUD is off and I've been working feverously to get it back on, even trying different organizations to no avail.  It's really tough because once the sun goes down, which is about 5:30pm here in Sacramento Ca we are at a loss. We can't see what we need to see to do what we need to do.  Without power, I can't do my jobs because I'm a computer consultant that works out of the house.  CATCH 22!  So we need some help.  We're currently going day to day eating because of the lack of food, money to buy and power to store what we would buy.  If I had a car battery I would be able to at least use one of my invertesr to power up my laptop and/or what I need to to get some work done at home instead of here (which isn't bad) at the library.  I could also power up a light so we could see at night. We've gotta come up with $424.00 to get our power turned on and hopefully we can get it by Xmas and consider that our XMAS gift this year.  If anyone could find it in their heart to help us in any way, that would be wonderful.  Thank You for your time and consideration and GOD BLESS.ONE MORE THING.... I'M THE BEST COMPUTER TECHNICIAN AND (HARDWARE & SOFTWARE) CERTIFIED... WITH 20 YEARS EXPERIENCE AND OPEN TO HELP AS TRADE FOR HELP AND OR JUST CONTACT ME AND I'LL HELP YOU JUST BECAUSE I CAN.

Hello my name is Pam.  On Sept 10 of last year I lost the single most important person in my life.  I lost my mother to kidney cancer.  For the last 7 months my deaf sister and I have been struggling to pay the bills here at home.  As you can imagine, we went from a 3 income just barely making ends meet, to a 2 income home where the ends can't even see each other.  My sister and myself both work out of town, so when you factor in the ever rising cost of gas, we have found ourselves in a financial quagmire.  My mother left no will, no life insurance, and a $ monthly mortgage.  Before she died we were already in financial trouble due to having to pay for her chemo infusion.  Our utilities (gas, power, etc, even the garbage fee) are way behind.  My sister and myself both have vehicles to pay for as well as insurance (mine lapsed in Jan. to be honest), gas, etc.  I have tried getting a loan through the "conventional" means but due to mistakes when I was younger, prettier, and incredibly stupid I have hit nothing but a brick wall.  I am praying and begging for someone to tell me what I can do to at least catch up. I am also willing to email or fax a copy of our bills (especially the power and gas bill), and a copy of my paystub to prove the validity of our situation to anyone kind enough to take a look to see about help.  Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.  Thank you and God bless.

My name is Rhonda P. from Houston, Texas. I am a single mother of 2 small children and guardian of my niece and nephew. I am here requesting help with my gas and water bill. I work full time and attend Univeristy of Phoniex full time as well. I am trying my best to help support my family but there is no outside help. My water has been shut off for approx 1 month and I have a disconnection notice for my lights. My gas bill has not went into disconnection yet but in about 3 weeks it will. Any help with anyone of these bills will be greatly appreciated. I can produce evidence of the bills if necessary. My water bill is about 450.00 because of an unusual increase in the bill .The water company adjusted the bill from approx 1200.00 to the 450.00 approx. My lights is about 145.00 and by gas is about 123.00. My money is spent on the food, clothing, and the transportation of my family. I have no husband and the father of my children is in prison. Again any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God Bless.

About Shannon K

Ok so last month (February) my boyfriend lost his job over something very petty.  He was suspended on Feb 5th and they fired him on the 14th, yep, Valentine's Day.  We have been struggling all month to pay all of our bills and the only one that was neglected was the utility bill.  Well, the bill for February alone was over $400 and we were a bit behind before that so they have now turned off our water and told us that we have anywhere from this Thursday to Saturday to come up with $600 to turn the water back on and keep the electricity from being shut off.  They wouldn't work with us in any way and we are both servers (my boyfriend just started a new job last week) so the money we make varies from day to day.  We have tried calling an assistance program but they haven't returned the call.  Does anyone know of someone we can turn to so we can prevent our situation from spiraling even further?  Thank you so much!
